Û About DPDEMO

  DPDEMO is a demonstration version of DrivePro version 1.19 available
  as freeware.  DrivePro is the hard drive installation and maintenance
  utility by Micro House International.

  This demo does not actually write to the hard drive, it simulates
  different operations to give you an idea of what DrivePro has to
  offer.

  DrivePro contains many, many features.  Since this demo contains the
  complete set of features you may find some sections to be confusing.
  The working version of DrivePro comes with complete documentation
  (over 300 pages) and live technical support.



Û DrivePro's Key Features

  DrivePro has numerous features, far too many to list here.  The
  following are a few of the features that you will find useful.

    ß The ability to create a Custom Drive Type.
      This feature allows you to define your own parameters for a drive,
      independent of the BIOS drive table.  Also, because the parameters
      are written to the hard drive, if you ever lose the CMOS settings
      or move the drive to a different machine, you merely need to set
      the CMOS to anything besides 0 and the drive will boot.

    ß 1024 Cylinder Support.
      As of MS DOS 6.2, DOS is still limited to 1024 cylinders.  If you
      have a ST506/412 or ESDI drive with no controller BIOS, or an IDE
      drive greater than 504 MB, you need special software support in
      order to use the cylinders greater than 1024.

    ß IDE quick setup.
      Running DrivePro /IDE will set-up a new IDE hard drive in about a
      minute.  It will. . .
          1: Automatically detect the drive and what parameters to use
             for it,
          2: Set the CMOS correspondingly,
          3: Partition the drive,
          4: Format the drive and,
          5: Transfer the DOS boot files, all in about ONE minute!

      Run DRIVEPRO /IDE.

    ß Guided Mode.
      DrivePro can run in a guided mode that leads you through the
      installation of any drive, prompting you to make any decisions.

    ß Drive database.
      DrivePro includes a database of set-up parameters for almost all
      drives.  All you need to know is the make and model!

    ß Get lost parameters.
      If you ever experience CMOS battery failure or move the drive to
      another machine, this feature will find out from the drive what
      parameters were used to set-up the drive, even if DrivePro wasn't
      used to set-up the drive!

  DRIVEPRO.HLP contains the DrivePro manual in Windows Help format. Run
  "WINHELP DRIVEPRO" from the Program Manager to access the file.
